Grupo Salinas chairman and founder Ricardo Salinas discusses the challenges of doing business in Latin America with CFR Board Member Donna Hrinak. Salinas cites inconsistent regulation across the continent as a major challenge for his company. "It’s complicated because there are lots of small countries out there," he says, "each one has its own rules." Salinas also emphasizes that not all Latin American countries offer the same opportunities for business investment. "There are other neighborhoods like Venezuela, where we would not be investing there, like Ecuador, like Nicaragua. We’d steer clear of those."
