State Department Fellowship on Technology Diplomacy
The Program
Established in 2024, the State Department Fellowship on Technology Diplomacy provides a unique opportunity for a Foreign Service Officer or a member of the civil service at the Department of State to spend a year in residence at CFR’s New York or Washington, DC, offices researching and writing on critical national security priorities on cyber, digital, and emerging technology policy.
The fellowship enables the awardee to reflect on their government experience and to engage with leading experts and CFR members on the interaction between technology policy and the broad range of issues on the foreign policy agenda. Fellows also expand and deepen their knowledge of international relations through extensive participation in CFR’s active program of meetings and events.
