Below is a visualization and description of some of the most significant incidents of political violence in Nigeria from November 20 to November 26, 2021. This update also represents violence related to Boko Haram in Cameroon, Chad, and Niger. These incidents are included in the Nigeria Security Tracker.

 

 

  • November 20: Communal violence led to three deaths in Akoko North-East, Ondo.
  • November 20: Military airstrikes killed "many" (estimated at twenty) bandits in Isa, Sokoto.
  • November 21: Bandits killed four in Batagarawa, Katsina.
  • November 21: Bandits killed one and kidnapped "dozens" (estimated at twenty-four) in Chikun, Kaduna.
  • November 22: A gun battle resulted in the death of one Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) member and one soldier in Oru East, Imo.
  • November 22: Bandits kidnapped approximately twenty-four more people in Chikun, Kaduna.
  • November 23: Herdsmen killed two in Bassa, Plateau.
  • November 23: Gunmen killed one police officer during an attack on a police station in Ideato North, Imo.
  • November 23: Militants blew up another oil pipeline in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Rivers.
  • November 24: Danish naval forces killed four pirates in the Gulf of Guinea, off the coast of Nigeria.
  • November 24: Police officers killed a bandit leader in Chikun, Kaduna.
  • November 25: Bandits kidnapped five in Shiroro, Niger State.
  • November 25: Gunmen abducted five in Akoko North-East, Ondo.
  • November 25: A vigilante group killed thirteen Islamic State in West Africa (ISWA) members in Shiroro, Niger State.
  • November 25: Suspected herdsmen kidnapped ten in Isuikwua, Abia.
  • November 25: Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) members killed three Boko Haram militants after they had killed two farmers in Konduga, Borno.
  • November 26: Sectarian violence led to eleven deaths in Bassa, Plateau.
  • November 26: Special Forces killed twelve bandits along the Kaduna-Abuja road (estimated in Chikun Local Government Area).
